Attention Vendors and Crafters:

We are still looking for vendors and exceptional crafters for our vendor fair, which will take place on Saturday, April 19th from 9 am – 3 pm, and Sunday, April 20th from 9:15 am – 12:30 pm.  We hope you will consider joining us!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

1.   Why does the First Presbyterian Church Youth Group host this vendor fair/craft show?

a.   We host this show so that our Senior High Youth Group, made up of students from Joliet , New Lenox, Plainfield and Lockport can raise funds for our summer mission trip.  This coming summer, our group of 21 will be going to a Native American reservation in Arizona to help.

2.   How many people usually walk through your show?

a.   On average, over the past 4 years, we have had between 400 and 500 shoppers walk through our vendor/craft fair.

3.   How much does it cost to rent a table/space?

a.   We structure our rental costs by table.  For an 8 foot long table (for the whole weekend) it costs $50.00, and for a card table (for the whole weekend) it costs $30.00

4.   How do the vendors/crafters get selected?

a.   Vendors and crafters are taken on a first-come, first-served basis.  We will absolutely close the show at 60 vendors and crafters.  We also try to make it more fun for everyone by only accepting one vendor per company. (ie:  one “Mary Kay” rep, one “ Avon ” rep)  We do allow more than one vendor/crafter selling similar items, however.  (There may be a few jewelry or skin care reps in total; just not with the same parent company)

5.   What do the vendors/crafters need to pay besides the table fee?

a.   Vendors and crafters are not required to pay or donate anything additional after the table fee.  Our youth group does run a silent auction as a part of this fair, and, in the past, some vendors/crafters have chosen to contribute items to this silent auction.  Some vendors/crafters have also chosen to give a percentage of their weekend sales to our youth group.  Any vendors/crafters who give something extra, be it a silent auction item or a percentage of sales, receive a sign to put on their table, letting our customers know that they are contributing something extra to our youth group.

6.   Do vendors/crafters need to provide their own tables?

a.   We provide all of the tables.  You will only need to provide a WHITE tablecloth (any kind) to cover your table.

7.   Do you accept food vendors?

a.   First Presbyterian Church works closely with our Health Department in Will County and, as such, we will only accept food vendors that carry either a year-long permit with the Will County Health Department, or purchase a two-day permit for the days of our fair.    If you have further questions about this, please call Heather Rey (Director of Youth Ministries) at 815-727-9259 x 210.

8.   Which vendors/crafters are the most successful at this show?

a.   We have found in the past 4 years that our vendors/crafters that go away feeling the most successful are often the ones that have items that can be immediately “cash and carried.”  Depending on the items, some people do purchase things that will be delivered at a later date.  We have also found that our show is a great forum for those looking to promote businesses or “get their name out there!”

9.   How do I sign up?

a.   If you are interested in participating in our show, please contact Heather Rey, Director of Youth Ministries at 815-727-9259 x 210.  You will then be mailed or emailed a commitment form.  When your commitment form and deposit are received, you will be sent a confirmation letter.
